The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has announced on Wednesday that Amihan or the Northeast Monsoon is officially over, signifying the start of the dry season.
In a press release, the weather bureau said the shifting of the wind pattern from Northeasterlies to Easterlies over most parts of the country as a result of the advancing High-Pressure Area (HPA) over the Northwestern Pacific as well as the weakening of the associated North-easterly winds and decreasing sea level pressure in the country indicates warmer conditions.
PAGASA also mentioned that day-to-day rainfall distribution across the country will be influenced mostly by easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
