Typhoon Uwan Weakens as It Moves Away from Ilocos Region




Typhoon Uwan (international name Fung-Wong) continues to weaken as it moves northwestward away from the Ilocos Region. Despite the weakening, strong winds and high seas persist across several parts of Luzon.

Track and Intensity Outlook

Typhoon Uwan is expected to follow a recurving path, turning northwest today, northward tomorrow (November 11), and then northeastward to eastward later in the week.

It may briefly re-intensify tonight until tomorrow as it moves over the waters southwest of Taiwan before gradually weakening from Wednesday (November 12) onward.

Uwan is forecast to exit the PAR tonight or early tomorrow (November 11), possibly re-entering on Wednesday evening as it makes landfall over the southwestern coast of Taiwan, then weakening into a remnant low by Friday (November 14) near the Ryukyu Islands.
