Several National Roads in Cordillera Remain Impassable Due to Landslides and Flooding, DPWH Cordillera Issues Travel Advisory (November 10, 2025)




As of November 10, 2025, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Cordillera, has reported that several national roads across Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, and Kalinga remain impassable due to landslides, soil collapse, and flooding brought by recent heavy rains. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes where available and to exercise caution while traveling on reopened roads, as clearing operations continue in multiple affected areas.

Note

Due to the on-going response and clearing operations of the DPWH, roads may open anytime and my not be updated in this article.

BAGUIO-BOUND MAJOR ROADS

PASSABLE:

  • Marcos Highway
  • Baguio – Bauang Road [Naguillian Road]

NOT PASSABLE:

Kennon Road

  • Only residents along the area are allowed to pass

Baguio – Bontoc Road [Halsema Highway]

  • Pilando, Gambang, Bakun, Benguet
    • The main road is closed to all types of vehicles to facilitate ongoing road rehabilitation works in the area. However, a detour road has been opened to accommodate motorists; heavy traffic is expected as the route is only one-lane passable.
    • Alternate Route:
      Motorists may also take the Cong. Andres Acop Cosalan Road as an alternative access.
  • Paoay, Atok, Benguet
    • Fallen Trees and Soil Collapse
    • Equipment and crew on standby for the clearing operation

Benguet – Nueva Vizcaya Road

  • Sitio Bangao, Brgy. Ambuclao, Bokod, Benguet
    • Landslide
    • Clearing operations will commence once the weather conditions improve

Asin – Nangalisan – San Pascual-La Union Road

  • Tadiangan, Tuba
    • Fallen Utility Pole

  • High water level along the detour road at the ongoing Annaran Bridge Construction Project (Madalagudug River) at Butao, Calanasan, Apayao.
  • The contractor’s equipment is on standby to fix the detour once the water level subsides.

BENGUET

Baguio-Itogon Road

Abatan – Mankayan- Cervantes Road
