Typhoon Marce remains slow-moving over the waters east of Northern Cagayan, with powerful winds and hazardous sea conditions affecting Northern Luzon and nearby areas. Residents in the typhoon’s path should prepare for strong winds, heavy rains, and storm surges in the coming days.

  • Movement: Westward at a slow pace
  • Maximum Winds: 150 km/h near the center, gusts up to 185 km/h

Additional Hazards

  • Heavy Rainfall: For specific rainfall impacts, refer to Weather Advisory No. 9.
  • Severe Winds: Areas under Wind Signal No. 3 can expect gale-force winds with moderate to significant impacts. Strong winds are also likely across other areas under Wind Signals 1 and 2.
  • Storm Surge: High risk of life-threatening storm surge over low-lying coastal areas in Batanes, Cagayan (including Babuyan Islands), Isabela, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and La Union, with peaks exceeding 3 meters above normal tide levels.
  • Sea Conditions: Very rough seas with waves reaching up to 12 meters are expected over eastern seaboards of Babuyan Islands and northeastern mainland Cagayan. All sea travel remains extremely risky.

Track and Intensity Outlook

Typhoon Marce is forecast to continue moving west-northwest today, gradually accelerating westward tomorrow. Marce may make landfall or closely pass through Babuyan Islands or northern Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, and Apayao from Thursday afternoon to early Friday morning. It is expected to remain a typhoon until it exits the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday evening, with gradual weakening expected over the weekend.

Residents in affected areas should stay updated, follow local advisories, and prepare for potential evacuations as necessary. The next update will be issued at 5:00 PM today.
