Things you can do in Burnham Park during MGCQ

When the pandemic happened, parks and other tourist destinations in the city were also closed to the public. Included in the closed parks is Burnham Park, one of the parks that are located in the central business district of the City of Pines. The City Government of Baguio has gradually eased some of the restrictions in the city and they reopened some parks for the residents first and is now also open for tourists coming from Region 1 through the Ridge & Reef (RnR) Baguio – Region 1 Travel Corridor.

Things You Can Do in Burnham Park

Before the pandemic, there are a lot of activities the public can freely enjoy at Burnham Park. But due to the current pandemic, there are restrictions that were implemented, and people can still have fun and enjoy some of these allowed activities in the park while the city is on Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ):

Biking

One of the popular activities to do when visiting Burnham Park is biking and a lot might have missed this fun activity in the park. The best part of biking in Burham is that there are a lot of bike stalls where you can choose a bike you prefer. You can either choose a bike for a solo ride or a bike with a sidecar and you can rent and enjoy the bike for an hour or more.

Boating

One of the activities for groups is boat riding in Burnham Park. Just like the bike, there are also different designs of boats to choose from. Within an hour, park-goers can tour and explore the whole of Burnham Park Lake.

Jogging

The city government earlier announced that jogging is allowed in the park. It’s important to stay fit especially during this time of pandemic and Burnham Park is one of the nice areas in the city to do jogging, especially in the morning.

Sit on the Bench and Enjoy the Scenery

If you just want to relax and relieve stress after a busy week, aside from doing activities such as boating and biking, Burnham Park also has benches where you can just sit and enjoy the scenery of the place. It’s also important to have a break and have time to relax your mind.
