SLU Graduates Shine: Two Louisian Top-Notchers in the February 2025 Mechanical Engineering Licensure Exam





Baguio City – Saint Louis University (SLU) continues to solidify its reputation for academic excellence as two of its graduates secured spots in the top ten of the recently concluded February 2025 Mechanical Engineers Licensure Examination.

Lorie Jay Santiago Dela Cruz proudly claimed the 4th spot with an impressive rating of 90.80%, while Chance Benavidez Baladad secured the 8th spot with a rating of 89.50%. Their outstanding achievements highlight the university’s commitment to producing top-tier engineers who excel in their respective fields.

Exam Results Overview

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that out of 6,318 examinees, 3,089 successfully passed the Mechanical Engineers Licensure Examination. Additionally, 30 out of 84 candidates passed the Certified Plant Mechanics Computer-Based Licensure Examination. The board examinations were conducted in multiple testing centers, including those in the National Capital Region, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, and Zamboanga. The results were released just three working days after the final day of the examinations.

The Board of Mechanical Engineering, chaired by Engr. Rodulfo L. Tablante, with members Engr. Manuel L. Paulino and Engr. Ramon F. Solis, facilitated the licensure examinations.

Registration and Oathtaking

Successful examinees are required to complete their registration for the issuance of their Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration online starting April 14, 2025. The process can be completed through the PRC’s official website (www.prc.gov.ph).

Registrants must prepare the following documents:

  • Duly accomplished Oath Form (Panunumpa ng Propesyonal)
  • Notice of Admission (for identification purposes)
  • Two (2) passport-sized photos (colored with a white background and complete name tag)
  • Two (2) sets of documentary stamps
  • One (1) short brown envelope

Successful examinees must personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals. Details regarding the oathtaking ceremony will be announced at a later date.
