Several Roads in Cordillera Not Passable as of 5 PM, August 12

The Department of Public Works and Highways-Cordillera Administrative Region (DPWH-CAR) released an updated list of road sections that are currently not passable due to road hazards in different parts of the region.

Motorists are advised to avoid the affected sections, use designated alternate routes, and continue monitoring official advisories before traveling.

Baguio-Bound Roads

Kennon Road: Not Passable

Kennon Road is now listed as not passable in the 5:00 PM advisory.

This is an update from the earlier August 12 advisory, which listed Kennon Road as temporarily closed to non-residents.

Motorists may use the following alternate routes:

• Marcos Highway
• Asin-Nangalisan-San Pascual-La Union Boundary Road
• Naguilian Road

Naguilian Road is listed by DPWH-CAR as an alternate route. Motorists should, however, continue to observe existing traffic restrictions and instructions from authorities along the route.

Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road: Beckel

The Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road remains not passable at Beckel in La Trinidad, Benguet.

Alternate routes are:

• Marlboro-Beckel Road
• Labey-Lacamen Road

Other Roads Not Passable in Benguet

Baguio-Itogon Road

The Baguio-Itogon Road is not passable at Sitio Goldfield, Barangay Poblacion, Itogon, Benguet.

Alternate route: Ucab-Midas Road

Tawang-Ambiong Road

Tawang-Ambiong Road is also listed as not passable.

Alternate routes are:

• Shilan-Beckel Road
• Baguio-Bontoc Road

Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road: Bokod

Another section of the Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road is not passable at Barangay Bobok-Bisal in Bokod, Benguet.

Abatan-Mankayan-Cervantes Road

A section of the Abatan-Mankayan-Cervantes Road at Tabio, Mankayan, Benguet is not passable.

Motorists may use:

• For light vehicles: Bayoyo-Tabio Road
• For heavy vehicles: Paco-Colalo Bypass Road

Ifugao

Banaue-Hungduan-Benguet Boundary Road

The Banaue-Hungduan-Benguet Boundary Road is not passable at Hapao, Hungduan.

Alternate route: Kiangan-Tinoc-Buguias Road

Kalinga

Tabuk-Banaue via Tanudan-Barlig Road

A section of the Tabuk-Banaue via Tanudan-Barlig Road at Dupligan, Tanudan, Kalinga is not passable.

Alternate route: Cudal-Pangol-Gombuwoy Road

Mountain Province

Mountain Province-Ilocos Sur via Tue Road

The Mountain Province-Ilocos Sur via Tue Road is not passable at Balaoa, Tadian.

Alternate route: Mountain Province-Ilocos Sur Road via Kayan Road

Avoid Affected Road Sections

Motorists are advised not to attempt to cross closed or unsafe road sections and to use the alternate routes identified by DPWH-CAR.

Road conditions may change, particularly while clearing and assessment operations continue. Those who need to travel should check the latest official road advisory before departure.
