Search for Outstanding Citizens of Baguio until June 15 Only
The nomination for the Outstanding Citizens of Baguio for 2020 will end on June 15 as announced by the Society of Outstanding Citizens of Baguio (SOCOB) and the City Government of Baguio.
What is SOCOB?
It is the organization of awardees of the annual Search for Outstanding Citizens of Baguio.
What is Search for Outstanding Citizens of Baguio?
The Search for Outstanding Citizens of Baguio is an institutionalized activity of the city government and SOCOB. Its goal is to recognize the exemplary efforts of residents who were able to:
- Excel in their fields of expertise; and
- Served as inspiration to others in service to the people living in the 128 Barangays of Baguio City.
Where to get a Nomination Form?
The nomination form is available at the:
- City Mayor’s Office
- Philippine Information Agency Cordillera
- Other Offices of the City Government
- Concerned Government Agencies
These are the accessible places where nominators can get forms to nominate possible candidates.
Nominees can come from the:
- Professional Sector
- Culture and Arts Sector
- Community Service Sector
- Other Sectors (nominees who displayed exemplary character and achievements that give Baguio City global recognition)
Screening Committee
There will be a Screening Committee for SOCOB 2020. The committee will check the compliance of the nominators to the documentary requirements of the nominees before transferring it to the Judging Committee. The search and screening committee is not authorized to disqualify any of the nominees that will be submitted until June 15, 2020, as stated in the rules and regulation of the search.
Result Announcement
The decision coming from the Judging Committee will be considered the final result and will only be announced by the City Mayor a week before the celebration of the annual Charter Day of Baguio City.
Awarding Ceremony Date
The winners of the Search for Outstanding Citizens of Baguio will be part of the program on September 1, Baguio Charter Day Celebration. Also, the 2020 awardees will be automatically qualified as members of SOCOB. They will be welcomed with a testimonial dinner and an induction ceremony as they take part in the organization.
Award of the Search of Outstanding Citizens of Baguio
A plaque of recognition from the city government of Baguio will be awarded to the winners.
