Road Advisory for Baguio and Cordillera Travelers | 28 July 2025, 9:00 AM
The Department of Public Works and Highways – Cordillera Administrative Region (DPWH-CAR) has released the latest road status update as of 9:00 AM today, 28 July 2025. Despite the continuous rains over the past days, most major routes remain passable, while some areas are still undergoing clearing operations.
Major Roads Going To/From Baguio
Passable
- Marcos Highway
- Baguio–Bauang Road (Naguilian Road)
- Asin–Nangalisan–San Pascual–La Union Boundary Road
- Benguet–Nueva Vizcaya Road
- Baguio–Bontoc Road
Kennon Road
Kennon Road remains CLOSED to all traffic.
Although initial clearing works have been done, the route is still under close monitoring due to an imminent threat of rockfall or soil collapse brought about by continuous rainfall.
DPWH-CAR reminds the public that unauthorized or premature announcements regarding Kennon Road’s status not only mislead travelers but can also endanger lives. Safety remains the top priority.

- Cause: Rock slide
- Status: Clearing equipment and crews are resuming work today.

Travel Advisory | Motorist Alert
Motorists are reminded to exercise extreme caution when passing through roads that have recently reopened after closures. While these routes are now passable, some hazards may still be present, including:

- Soft shoulders
- Ongoing clearing operations
Drive slowly, follow all traffic signs, and stay vigilant for sudden changes in road conditions.
