PAGASA: Severe Tropical Storm “Ulysses” Nearing Typhoon Category, Baguio City on Signal No.2
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported through their latest Severe Weather Bulletin issued at 8:00 AM today (Wednesday), November 11, 2020, that the Severe Tropical Storm “Ulysses” further intensifies and is nearing Typhoon category.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) number 1 and two have already been raised for several areas in Luzon and Visayas.
According to PAGASA, throughout the passage of “Ulysses”, the areas under TCWS #2 will be experiencing damaging gale-force to storm-force wind and those under TCWS #1, on the other hand, will have strong breeze to near gale conditions.
“Given the likelihood of intensification into a typhoon in the next 12 to 24 hours, TCWS #3 may be raised over several provinces in Bicol Region (and eventually over Metro Manila and portions of CALABARZON and Central Luzon) once “Ulysses” is upgraded to typhoon category.”
