Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong has contracted the coronavirus for the second time. According to the Public Information Office (PIO) of the City of Baguio posted on Monday, the mayor tested positive on January 30, 2022, shortly after manifesting symptoms on the evening of January 29.
“My swab test result came out last night. I am positive for COVID-19. My symptoms appeared Saturday evening. I will be on home isolation until Saturday. Please take care of yourselves and your families,” Magalong said.
According to the local chief executive of the city, his symptoms this time were “very mild” compared to his first bout with the virus last year when he experienced severe symptoms after contracting the virus.
PIO says that the mayor will continue rendering his duties through digital means while he is under home isolation until February 5.
