Mayor Magalong Orders Immediate Lockdown of Two Areas in Baguio City

[UPDATE AS OF JUNE 3, 2020] Mayor Benjamin Magalong, through the Public Information Office – City of Baguio, announced that the lockdown order on Purok 3, Barangay Irisan is now lifted.

[June 2, 2020] Mayor Benjamin Magalong signed Memorandum No. 70, Series of 2020 ordering the immediate lockdown of Barangay South Central Aurora Hill and Purok 3, Barangay Irisan.

The lockdown is effective today, June 2, 2020, until further notice.


According to the memorandum, the mayor ordered the lockdown after the local COVID-19 Task Force was informed that the latest confirmed COVID-19 case in the city which is a resident of Barangay South Central Aurora Hill visited a relative residing at Purok 3, Barangay Irisan.

In addition, the barangays were placed under lockdown so that the city can conduct an efficient contact tracing process while ensuring the safety of people who may have had contact with the patient.

Here are guidelines for residents of the barangays on lockdown based on the memorandum issued by Mayor Magalong:

  • Use of Home Quarantine Pass / Mall & Market Schedule is suspended.
  • Those who need to access basic necessities may proceed to their satellite market or available stores, or they must coordinate with their Barangay Officials.
  • Exit and entry into these areas is restricted to APORs and those with medical emergencies.
