“Yesterday, we received an information na yung UK variant is already in the city. May na-detect tayong UK variant. That’s why matindi yung ating contact tracing,” said Mayor Magalong. It was also been mentioned that the contact tracing is still ongoing.
It was stated that UK variant was detected in a 30-year old female who tested positive for COVID-19 on February 12, 2021 and tagged as recovered on February 23, 2021. “Fully recovered na s’ya. We detected the case nung February 12 at February 23 naka-recover na yung pasyente. We sent the specimen to the genome center at dumating kahapon yung resulta,” the mayor said.
According to Mayor Magalong, compliance with the minimum public health standard must be intensified. “Dapat talaga maingat tayo lagi. We have to make people aware that here in the City of Baguio, we have already the UK variant at kailangan natin lalong magingat,” he added.
