Magnitude 3.0 earthquake recorded this morning in Benguet

Did you feel that early morning shake in Baguio City? If so, that is because a low intensity earthquake occurred at around 5:oo in the early morning of February 24, 2023.

According to the Phivolcs earthquake advisory, the earthquake was recorded at 3.0 magnitude and tectonic in origin. The epicenter of the earthquake was pinpointed at 16.36°N, 120.73°E – 005 km N 89° E of Itogon (Benguet) with a depth of focus of 010 km.

Aftershocks and damages are not expected. However, the public is always reminded to be vigilant and observe proper earthquake preparedness practices.
