Kennon Road Now Open to Public, Light Vehicles Only
Kennon Road is now passable to the general public as of September 14, 2026, but only for light vehicles with a maximum load limit of 5 tons, according to DPWH-Cordillera.
Kennon Road is now open to the general public, but motorists should take note of vehicle restrictions and several affected sections along the route.
In its September 14, 2026 9 am travel advisory, the Department of Public Works and Highways-Cordillera Administrative Region (DPWH-CAR) said Kennon Road is passable strictly for light vehicles only, with a maximum load limit of 5 tons.
Heavy Vehicles Must Use Alternate Routes
Heavy vehicles are advised not to use Kennon Road and should instead take either of the following alternate routes:
- Marcos Highway
- Asin-Nangalisan-San Pascual-La Union Boundary Road
Restrictions Remain at Camp 2 and Camp 6
While Kennon Road is open to the public, restrictions remain at several locations.
At K0223+020, Sitio Camp 2, Barangay Twin Peaks, Tuba, Benguet, the Acrow Bridge remains closed.
Motorists are being directed through the Camp 2 detour road, which is currently one-lane passable.
A section at Camp 6 is also limited to one-lane traffic.

Motorists Advised to Exercise Caution
DPWH-CAR advised motorists using Kennon Road to exercise caution, monitor prevailing weather and road conditions, and strictly follow traffic and safety regulations.
Drivers should also observe the 5-ton load restriction and follow instructions from personnel managing traffic at affected sections.
