Because of the pandemic, there are several restrictions that have been put in place. This is to make sure the public can go about their daily activities in the new normal with a lowered risk of contracting the coronavirus. These minimum public health standards are handwashing, contact tracing, and limiting the occupancy of establishment in order to enforce proper physical distancing.
In order to enforce these guidelines, business establishments are encouraged to apply for a Safety Seal. Here’s a step-by-step guide on applying for a safety seal for your Baguio City business.
The safety seal is displayed at all entrance points of establishments to affirm to the public that the establishment has been found compliant with the minimum public health standards set by the government, including the adoption or integration with the StaySafe.ph in contact tracing application.
According to the Joint Memorandum Circular No. 21-01 series of 2021 or the Implementing Guidelines of the Safety Seal Certification Program, the safety seal certification program aims to:
The guidelines for the safety seal shall apply to private establishments, selected public places, and government offices.
The owner or representative of the business establishment shall answer the Safety Seal Checklist and Undertaking and Representations.

Send a letter of request for inspection to the Safety Seal Inspection Team via email: safetysealbaguiocity@gmail.com. The Permits and Licensing Division shall notify back to the applicant of the scheduled inspection.
The Baguio City Safety Seal Inspection Team shall validate the compliance according to the checklist during the scheduled inspection.
After inspection, the Safety Seal Team shall inform the owner or the representative of the result of the inspection.
The establishment shall be issued the Safety Seal
The applicant shall be advised to correct the deficiencies and apply for re-inspection/reassessment.
One (1) month before the expiration of your Safety Seal, the owner of the establishment can apply for renewal of his Safety Seal.
The Safety Seal is valid for six (6) months from the date of issuance. Tourism enterprises’ Safety Seal shall be valid for one (1) year.
