BSU and SLU Shine in 2023 Licensure Exam for Professional Teachers Results
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has officially released the results of the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (L.E.P.T.) held on September 24, 2023. This year’s examination, conducted across 40 testing centers in the Philippines and in Bangkok, Thailand, has highlighted the exceptional performance of local academic institutions, particularly Benguet State University (BSU) La Trinidad and Saint Louis University.
Out of 50,593 candidates for the elementary level, 23,782 (47.01%) successfully passed, while 53,995 out of 95,969 candidates (56.26%) cleared the secondary level. These figures not only demonstrate the rigorous standards of the examination but also the competitive nature of the teaching profession.
Delving into the details, 16,716 of the elementary teacher passers were first-time takers, and 7,066 were repeaters. For the secondary level, 39,979 passers were first timers, and 14,016 were repeaters, showcasing a mix of fresh talent and persistent determination.
LPT 2023 Top Performing Schools
In a remarkable achievement, BSU La Trinidad ranked fifth among the top-performing schools at the elementary level, with a pass rate of 96.08% (147 out of 153 candidates). Saint Louis University also stood out by securing the 10th spot in the top-performing schools for the secondary level, with 129 out of 141 candidates passing the exam.

Elementary Level
Adding to the accolades, Vivian Balong-angey Posayen from BSU – La Trinidad emerged as one of the topnotchers in the elementary level, highlighting the institution’s excellence in teacher education. Posayen garnered a 92.80% rating, earning herself a spot in the tenth rank.
