Baguio City’s First Saleng Festival 2021 Calendar of Activities





The City Government of Baguio kicked off the first Saleng Festival that will be held from June to September.

In the flag-raising ceremony sponsored by the City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO), the schedule of the four-month-long festival was launched with the theme, “Restoring our Ecosystem – Together.” Various activities are lined up to educate and encourage the local community’s involvement in the city’s urban forest management program.

As per Section 691 of the City’s Code of Ordinances, the tree planting months- June, July, August, and September- are institutionalized as regular annual activities of the City Government of Baguio, which mandates the City to instill awareness among the people on the present state of the environment through various activities related to tree planting, tree tending, solid waste management, support to clean air, and water conservation.
