Baguio City to bring vaccination drive in the workplace

As the cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in Baguio City, the City health services office will bring the vaccination drive closer to workers through the mobile vaccination in the workplace program. According to Assistant City Health Services Officer Dr. Celia Flor Brillantes, they will be deploying vaccinators and screeners to different workplaces once schedules are settled.

The goal of mobile vaccination in the workplace is to vaccinate workers/employees who are unable to go to the vaccination sites during work hours. By bringing the vaccination to the workplace, employees need not worry about taking time off work to go to vaccination sites.

What to prepare prior to vaccination

Just like those who went for vaccination at the different vaccination sites in Baguio City, those who want to be vaccinated at the workplace will have to do/prepare the following:

  • Register online at bakuna.baguio.gov.ph
  • Documentary requirements are a certificate of employment, valid identification card, or original barangay/residence certificates signed by a barangay official and issued within six months.
  • For senior citizens, they should aside from registering online, they should also present their senior citizens’ ID.
  • For persons with comorbidities, they should present a medical clearance from their doctor, in addition to registering online and other documentary requirements previously mentioned.

Baguio City has been constantly stepping up its effort to vaccinate eligible individuals for the city to reach herd immunity and to bring the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths. On October 7, 2021, the city recorded 394 new cases and 8 deaths, an increasing trend as the city still is grappling to take control of the scourge of the delta variant.
