Baguio City records 516 new cases today, January 13, 2022





Baguio City has recorded 516 new cases, 159 new recoveries, and zero deaths on Thursday, January 13, 2022. This is the highest recorded tally since September 18 last year, the peak of the delta variant last year where 411 cases were recorded in a single day.

According to Mayor Benjamin Magalong via a public live stream last January 11, the number of cases in the city is projected to peak 400-500 cases a day which is believed to be caused by the new Omicron variant, which is three to four times more transmissible than the delta variant.

Out of the 516 cases, 123 are asymptomatic, 390 cases are experiencing mild symptoms, while 3 have moderate symptoms.




New Lockdown Orders

With the increase of new cases, the following places in the city are placed on lockdown.

  1. SLU-SVP
    • Bakakeng New Site
  2. Bakakeng Norte/Sur
    • Block 4, Doña Aurora Street, Ciudad Grande Phase 1
  3. Poliwes
    • Apugan
