Baguio City recorded 374 new cases yesterday January 12, 2022




The number of new cases continues to rise in Baguio City. Just yesterday, the City Government of Baguio has recorded a total of 374 new cases. While most cases are considered mild, the spread of the virus is at an alarming rate. Last December, the City only recorded daily cases in single digits, there are times when there were zero recorded new cases in a day.

According to the data released by the Baguio City LGU, most of the cases recorded are mild with 282 cases, followed by asymptomatic with 90 cases and 2 moderate cases. The city also recorded 26 recoveries and zero (0) deaths.

This brings the total active cases in Baguio City to 1,725 as of 6:00 PM of January 12, 2022. The additional cases also brought about new lockdown orders on the following areas:

  1. Purok 5 Bakakeng Norte/sur
  2. Purok 5, Upper Fairview
  3. Purok 5, Gibraltar
  4. Albergo Hotel, Lualhati Barangay
  5. Liting, Pacdal
  6. Himalaya Street, Sharila Village and Nepal Street, San Luis Barangay
  7. Purok 7, Victoria Village

In a recent announcement by the Acting Presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles, Baguio City remains to be on alert level 3 from January 14-31, 2022. While Benguet, Abra, and Kalinga were elevated from Alert level 2 to Alert Level 3 starting January 14-31, 2022.

The Baguio City Mayor in his previous interview appealed to the public to follow minimum health protocols and to cooperate to help curb the rise of cases in Baguio City.
