Baguio City and La Trinidad Announce Class Suspensions Amid #FloritaPH




After the first day of resumption of face-to-face classes, local chief executives of Baguio City and La Trinidad have announced suspensions of classes for tomorrow, August 23, 2022, in preparation for the heavy rains that may be brought by Tropical Storm “Florita.”

While both Baguio City and La Trinidad are under Tropical Cyclone Signal No. 1, as per the 8:00 PM Tropical Cyclone Bulletin by PAGASA, heavy to intense with at times torrential rains may be experienced over the Cordillera Administrative Region.



Baguio City

Mayor Benjamin Magalong has announced that classes are suspended from preschool to high school (including senior high school) in both public and private schools.

La Trinidad

Mayor Romeo Salda also announced the suspension of classes from preschool to senior high school in both private and public schools in La Trinidad, as per Executive Order 024-2022.

Tropical Storm Florita continues to maintain its strength as it moves slowly westward over the Philippine Sea. According to PAGASA, there is a possibility of Florita intensifying into a severe tropical storm before landfall.
