LPA Monitored Outside Philippine Territory, No Immediate Threat to PH

MANILA, Philippines – A low-pressure area (LPA) detected beyond the country’s territorial boundaries could intensify into a tropical cyclone, according to reports from state weather forecasters. As of yesterday afternoon at 4 p.m., the weather disturbance was positioned approximately 2,905 kilometers east of Southeastern Mindanao.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has assured the public that this LPA poses no immediate threat to the Philippines and is not expected to affect the nation within the coming two to three days.

Meanwhile, prevailing weather conditions across the country for today will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies. Residents in Abra, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and the Ilocos region can anticipate isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, primarily influenced by the southwest monsoon. Metro Manila and other parts of the country are also expected to experience similar conditions, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms.
