Typhoon Emong, after making landfall in Candon City, Ilocos Sur earlier this morning, is now weakening as it traverses the rugged terrain of the Cordillera Administrative Region. Despite this downgrade in strength, the system continues to bring heavy rains, strong winds, and dangerous sea conditions across Northern Luzon and nearby regions.
As of 8:00 AM, July 25, 2025:
Heavy to intense rains persist over affected areas. Flood-prone and landslide-prone zones, particularly in Benguet, La Union, Pangasinan, and the Cordillera highlands, should remain on alert and follow local evacuation orders.
Stay alert and keep monitoring advisories as Typhoon Emong continues to move northeastward and gradually weakens over Northern Luzon.
