The city of Baguio received local PCR test kits for 4,000 tests from SM. This is to support the on-going COVID-19 mass testing in the city.
Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong received the test kits from SM Foundation through SM Assistant Vice President (AVP) of North 1 Marc Janssen Pe.
Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) is one of the first recipients of the GenAmplify Corona Virus 2019 (COVID-19) rRT PCR Detection Kit, a locally made COVID-19 test kit. It’s also one of the hospitals that will receive P30M worth of test kits which is equivalent to 20,000 tests from SM. This was made possible through the coordination of SM Foundation with the Department of Health (DOH), Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong, and Manila Healthtek- the producer of GenAmplify PCR test kits.
Aside from the test kits, SM also provided BGHMC additional testing accessories which include hyper filter tips, system racks, and cryovials.
BGMC previously received one (1) ICU-Grade Ventilator and two (2) shipments of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) with full suits, gloves, masks, and alcohol from SM Foundation.
With the joining of hands of the private and public sectors in fighting the pandemic, let us also do our part as citizens by adhering to the guidelines and protocols provided by our health at government authorities so we can speed up the road to global recovery.
