Red Rainfall Warning Raised Over Entire BLISTT Area

Baguio City and several areas in Benguet are under a Red Rainfall Warning as heavy rains brought by the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat continue to affect Northern Luzon.

PAGASA’s Northern Luzon PAGASA Regional Services Division (NLPRSD) issued Heavy Rainfall Warning No. 12 at 11:00 PM on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

Areas Under Red Rainfall Warning

The Red Rainfall Warning covers the following areas in Benguet:

– Baguio City
– Itogon
– La Trinidad
– Sablan
– Tuba
– Tublay

Residents in these areas are advised to take precautionary measures as heavy rains continue, particularly those living near mountain slopes and areas susceptible to flooding.

PAGASA also warned residents along mountain slopes to be alert for possible landslides, mudslides, rockslides, and flash floods.

Orange Rainfall Warning

An Orange Rainfall Warning remains in effect over the following areas:

Benguet

– Atok
– Bokod
– Buguias
– Kabayan
– Kapangan
– Kibungan
– Mankayan
– Bakun

La Union

According to the advisory, flooding and landslides remain threatening in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas covered by the Orange Warning.

Yellow Rainfall Warning

Meanwhile, a Yellow Rainfall Warning is in effect over:

– Santa Fe and Kayapa in Nueva Vizcaya
– Tinoc in Ifugao
– Pangasinan
– Ilocos Sur

Flooding and landslides may affect areas that are prone to these hazards.

More Rains Expected Across Northern Luzon

Light to moderate, and at times heavy rains, are expected within the next two to three hours over portions of:

– Quirino
– Aurora
– Apayao
– Mountain Province
– Ifugao
– Kalinga
– Isabela
– Cagayan
– Ilocos Norte

Similar weather conditions are already being experienced in portions of Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Quirino, Abra, Kalinga, and Ilocos Norte.

These rains may persist for the next two to three hours and may also affect nearby areas.

Public Advised to Remain Alert

PAGASA advised the public and concerned Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices to continue monitoring weather conditions and take precautionary measures against the hazards associated with the continuing rains.

Residents near mountain slopes should remain alert for possible landslides, mudslides, and rockslides, while those in low-lying and flood-prone areas should watch for possible flash floods.

The next Heavy Rainfall Warning is scheduled to be issued at 2:00 AM on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
