Heavy Rains to Persist Over Luzon Due to LPA and Southwest Monsoon





The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued Weather Advisory No. 2 and Rainfall Advisory No. 8, warning of significant rainfall over Luzon as a Low Pressure Area (LPA) continues to bring unsettled weather to the region.

Ongoing Rainfall Activity

As of 11:00 AM, light to moderate to occasionally heavy rains are being experienced in Batanes (Basco, Ivana, Mahatao, Sabtang, Uyugan), Cagayan (Calayan, Santa Ana), and Isabela (Palanan, Divilacan, Maconacon). These conditions are expected to persist within the next 2 to 3 hours and may expand to nearby areas including Batanes (Itbayat), portions of Cagayan and Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Ilocos Sur, and parts of Isabela.

Heavy Rainfall Outlook

Today until tomorrow noon (July 3): 50–100 mm over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, Ilocos Norte, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro.




Tomorrow noon to Friday noon (July 4): 100–200 mm over Cagayan, Isabela, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro; 50–100 mm over Batanes, Apayao, Kalinga, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Metro Manila, La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas.

Friday noon to Saturday noon (July 5): 50–100 mm over Batanes, Cagayan, Apayao, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro.

Potential Impacts

Flooding and landslides are likely, particularly in mountainous and low-lying areas. Impacts may be worsened by antecedent rainfall.
