Apple brand loyalty (willingness to buy the same brand again) has hit an all-time high while Android loyalty has dropped, based on the latest cell phone brand loyalty survey conducted by SellCell.
The online survey has included over five thousand (5,000) smartphone users based in the United States (US), aged 18 years or older, with any of the five major smartphone brands in the US – Apple, Samsung, Google, LG, and Motorola. The survey was conducted between March 3 to 10, 2021.
SellCell’s survey shows that the brand loyalty for Apple is at an all-time high of nearly 92% or 91.9% (up 1.4% from 90.5% in the 2019 survey) while Samsung loyalty dropped 11.7% (from 85.7% in 2019 to 74% in 2021). “Apple users are nearly 18% more loyal to their brand than Samsung users,” the SellCell highlighted.
As for brand loyalty among Google Pixel users, it dropped 18.8% (from 84% in 2019 to 65.2% in 2021).
Then there are those which SellCell called the “most disloyal bunch”, the Motorola and LG users, with approximately 71% and 62.6%, respectively, of users stating that they would switch to a different brand when they next upgrade/get a new smartphone.
Wondering why majority iPhone users or at least the respondents included in the survey chose to stick with the brand? Well here are the responses from the brand loyalists as reported by the SellCell.
The survey respondents were also asked by SellCell to pick their favorite model from a list of all flagship smartphones released in or after August 2020. Apple iPhone 12 topped, followed by iPhone 12 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S21. See the list below with smartphones ranked in order of votes received.
