Northern Luzon is currently experiencing heavy rainfall as Typhoon Egay lashes its way through. As forecasted by PAGASA, rainfall ranging from 50-100 mm is expected to affect areas such as Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, as well as the western regions of Abra and Benguet.
Based on the 5:00 AM update provided by PAGASA, the eye center of Typhoon Egay was positioned approximately 195 km West of Basco, Batanes, with the coordinates being 20.2 °N, 120.1 °E. The typhoon is charting a course towards the West Northwest at a speed of 15km/hr. Its maximum sustained winds have been recorded at 150 km/h near the center, with gusts reaching up to a staggering 185 km/h.
