Severe Tropical Storm PODUL Forms East of Luzon

Severe Tropical Storm PODUL has intensified over the Pacific while moving west northwestward far east of Extreme Northern Luzon. PAGASA says the storm is too far away to directly affect the country within the next five days.

At 10:00 AM, its center was located 2,155 kilometers east of Extreme Northern Luzon (21.6°N, 142.6°E). It has maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h near the center, gusts of up to 115 km/h, and a central pressure of 994 hPa. Strong to storm-force winds extend up to 250 kilometers from the center.

Track and Intensity Outlook
