PH Signed Supply Agreement for 30M Doses of Novavax Vaccine, Vaccine Czar Galvez Reports

 

 

Chief Implementer of the National Task Force Against COVID-19 and vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., during a virtual press briefing with Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque, Jr. held today (Tuesday), March 16, 2021, reported that the Philippines has already signed a supply agreement with Novavax for 30 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

“Naging maganda ang resulta ng pagbiyahe natin sa India no’ng isang linggo. Doon, napirmahan na po namin ang supply agreement na kung saan ang Serum Institute of India ay magsu-supply ng 30 million doses ng Novavax sa ating bansa. Most likely po 3rd quarter at saka 4th quarter.”

According to reports, the Food and Drug Administration of the Philippines (FDA) has not yet issued an Emergency Use Authorization for the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine. Furthermore, during the press briefing, Galvez said, “Hihintayin lang po natin na maaprobahan ang tinatawag nating emergency use authorization neto sa UK at sa US at dito sa ating bansa.”
