The Philippines has extended until January 31, 2021 the travel restrictions to more than 30 countries. This is according to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) Resolution No. 94 signed on Thursday, January 14, 2021.
As stated in the resolution, “entry travel restrictions and its governing rules applicable to all travelers coming from or transiting through the following countries” is extended until the end of January:
Furthermore, it was mentioned in the resolution that all incoming travelers from any country, if found positive, shall undergo whole genome sequencing by:
Also, contact tracing protocols will be strengthened by expanding to third-generation contacts for known new variant cases according to the resolution.
In addition, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) was directed by IATF to strictly implement issuances against airlines that allow the boarding of passengers who are prohibited from entering the Philippines pursuant to the travel restrictions imposed by the Office of the President and the IATF.
