Tropical Storm Kiyapo is now over the coastal waters of Calayan, Cagayan as it continues to move west northwestward, PAGASA said Friday afternoon, July 24, 2026. Benguet remains under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1, while Baguio City and parts of Benguet are experiencing moderate to heavy rains that may persist within the next 2 to 3 hours.
According to PAGASA’s Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 11 issued at 2:00 PM, the center of Tropical Storm Kiyapo was estimated over the coastal waters of Camiguin Island in Calayan, Cagayan as of 1:00 PM.
Kiyapo had maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 90 kilometers per hour, and a central pressure of 996 hectopascals.
It was moving west northwestward at 25 kilometers per hour.

Areas under Signal No. 2 may experience gale-force winds that may bring minor to moderate impacts to life and property.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 remains raised over:
Areas under Signal No. 1 may experience strong winds that may bring minimal to minor impacts.
Residents in Benguet and nearby areas are advised to secure loose outdoor items, especially in exposed and upland areas.
In Heavy Rainfall Warning No. 4 issued at 2:00 PM, the PAGASA Northern Luzon Regional Services Division placed several areas under Orange and Yellow Rainfall Warnings due to Tropical Storm Kiyapo.
An Orange Warning is raised over parts of Cagayan, Apayao, and Ilocos Norte.
PAGASA said flooding and landslides are threatening in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas.
A Yellow Warning is raised over other parts of Cagayan and Apayao.

PAGASA Northern Luzon also reported moderate to heavy rains over several areas, including parts of Benguet.

Light to moderate rains are also expected over the rest of Benguet within the next 2 to 3 hours.
Residents, especially those along mountain slopes and flood-prone areas, are advised to take precautionary measures against possible landslides, mudslides, rockslides, and flash floods.
PAGASA said the Southwest Monsoon and the outer circulation of Kiyapo may continue to affect most of the country today.
These conditions may also affect most of Luzon and Visayas on Saturday, July 25, and parts of Luzon, MIMAROPA, Zambales, Bataan, and Quezon on Sunday, July 26.
Residents in Baguio City, Benguet, and other mountain areas are advised to monitor local rainfall advisories and announcements from disaster risk reduction offices.
A Gale Warning is in effect over the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon.
Very rough seas may affect the seaboards of Batanes and Babuyan Islands, where waves may reach up to 5.5 meters.
Waves may also reach up to 4.5 meters over the northern seaboards of mainland Cagayan and Ilocos Norte.
Sea travel is risky for all types of vessels in these areas. Mariners are advised to remain in port or seek shelter until winds and waves subside.
PAGASA said Kiyapo may pass very close to or make landfall in the vicinity of the Babuyan Islands within the next 6 hours.
It is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Saturday morning, July 25.
Kiyapo may continue to intensify while crossing Extreme Northern Luzon and may become a severe tropical storm after passing the Babuyan Islands.
The next tropical cyclone bulletin will be issued at 5:00 PM today.
