PAGASA: Typhoon “Hinnamnor” to enter PAR Wednesday




The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported through their latest Tropical Cyclone Advisory issued at 11:00 AM today, that a typhoon with the international name “Hinnamnor” may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday evening.




According to the weather bureau, Typhoon Hinnamnor maintains its strength at 30 km/h while moving westward over the sea of Japan then will turn west-southwestward on Wednesday.

The center of the eye is estimated to be located 1,655 km East Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon (26.8°N, 136.7°E), packing a maximum sustained winds of 165 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 205 km/h.




PAGASA also warns that Hinnamnor may rapidly intensify and reach the Super Typhoon category within 24 hours. Once the typhoon enters PAR on August 31, it will be assigned the domestic name “Gardo”.

The next weather bulletin will be released by PAGASA at 2 PM today.
