The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has shared an image of a big, beautiful, and blue galaxy captured by the Hubble Space Telescope.
“NGC 2336 is the quintessential galaxy — big, beautiful, and blue — and it is captured here by the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope.”

NGC 2336 is a galaxy about 100 million light-years away and using a 0.28 meter or 11-inch telescope, the galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Wilhelm Tempel in 1876.
According to NASA, “the barred spiral galaxy stretches an immense 200,000 light-years across and is located approximately 100 million light-years away in the northern constellation of Camelopardalis (the Giraffe).”
In the captured image it shows that NGC 2336’s spiral arms glitter with young stars, visible in their bright blue light.
NASA added that the redder central part of the galaxy is dominated by older stars.
