Both the local government and the religious sector agreed to allow church services in Baguio City during the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).
Mayor Benjamin Magalong, in a meeting with leaders of religious organizations, has acknowledged that church services are essential activities. Hence, they should be allowed under MGCQ.
According to the Public Information Office – City of Baguio (PIO-Baguio), the reopening of churches will be subject to guidelines compliant with the health and safety standards on the prevention and control of the Coronavirus disease or COVID-19.

The church leaders who attended the meeting have committed to comply with the precautionary measures in order not to complicate the COVID-19 problem nor jeopardize the programs of the city government.
