A magnitude 7.0 earthquake rocked several parts of Luzon Wednesday morning. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) earthquake information, the earthquake occurred at 08:43:24 AM.
The epicenter of the earthquake was pinpointed at 17.64°N, 120.63°E – 003 km N 45° W of Tayum (Abra). The earthquake was earlier registered a magnitude 7.3, before it was updated to 7.0 at 9:52 AM. It has a depth of focus of 17 km. The origin of the earthquake is tectonic.
