Following Proclamation No.922 issued by President Rodrigo Duterte, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) issued a strict implementation that the price of all basic necessities will be frozen for 60 days.
Proclamation No. 922 is the declaration of State of Public Health Emergency throughout the Philippines due to the outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
According to RA 7581 or Price Act, Price Freeze is declared during State of Emergency, State of Calamity/Disaster, State of Rebellion, State of War, Suspension of Privilege of Writ of Habeas Corpus, and Martial Law. It is effective for 60 days for basic goods and 15 days for household LPG and kerosene.
Price Free for Kerosene and LPG
The Department of Energy (DOE) ordered a price freeze for kerosene and household liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) that will be effective from March 10 to 24, 2020.

Establishments that will violate the price act will be penalized with a fine amounting to Php 5,000.00 to Php 1,000,000.00 or imprisonment for a period of 1 year up to 10 years.
