For the past eight days, from January 19-26, 2021, most of the violators of the health protocols in Baguio City were given warnings and lectures. This is based on the result of the Baguio City Police Office’s (BCPO) operations on health protocol observance. And, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong has “ordered the police to intensify the operations until such time that substantial compliance is achieved.”
The operation to intensify the campaign against health protocol violators in the city is pushed as the UK variant was detected in Bontoc, Mt. Province and contact tracing has revealed that some cases in Baguio showed the potential links to UK variant cases recorded in Bontoc and La Trinidad, Benguet.
Data of the BCPO report was posted today in the Public Information Office (PIO) – City of Baguio Facebook page.

From January 19 until January 26, 832 individuals were warned for faceshield violation and 64 facemask violators were warned. And, 589 individuals were lectured for not wearing faceshield and facemask properly.
Furthermore, “Magalong asked that more foot patrollers be deployed to accost and penalize violators especially those not wearing face masks and face shields.”
In city PIO’s post today, Mayor Magalong has ordered more cops on street to arrest health protocol violators.

Also, the fine for facemask law offenders is ranging from PHP 500.00 to PHP 3,000.00. While faceshield violators in the city of will be sent home.
In the PIO post, it was stated that minors below the age of 15 are not allowed from going out of their homes.
For senior citizens, they are encouraged to stay at home at all times and will only go out for save essential purposes.
