Baguio Records Three New Cases as Well as Highest Number of Recoveries Today

The City of Baguio has recorded the highest number of persons who recovered from COVID-19 today. This is according to the recently posted Baguio City COVID-19 Monitoring report by the Baguio Public Information Office. According to the report, there are 14 patients who recovered from the disease. This brings the total number of persons who recovered to 146.

New Cases Recorded Today

While there are recoveries, the city also recorded new COVID-19 cases. According to the same monitoring report, as of August 18, 2020, at 5:00 PM there are 3 people who were found to be positive for COVID-19. This brings the total of COVID-19 cases to 259 and active cases to 105.

• 51 years old – Male – contact with a COVID-19 patient
• 31 years old – Female – as a result of the enhanced testing
• 25 years old – Male – contact with a COVID-19 patient

One Fatality Also Recorded Today

Baguio City also recorded one fatality today. The patient was a 93 years old female with co-morbidities. This brings the total number of COVID-19 fatalities in the City to 8.

More patients are Asymptomatic and with Mild Symptoms

In the same report, the Public Information Office has stated that there is about ninety percent of COVID-19 patients that are asymptomatic or are exhibiting only mild symptoms. While ten percent of the total number of COVID-19 patients have moderate to severe symptoms.
