Tropical DepressionSalome continues to move west southwestward over the sea east of Taiwan while maintaining its strength. The system is expected to bring strong winds and rough seas over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and parts of Northern Luzon.

Luzon:
Salome is expected to continue moving southwestward under the influence of a High Pressure Area over mainland China. The system may pass close or make landfall over Batanes tonight or early tomorrow, then move near Babuyan Islands and Ilocos Norte within the next 24 hours. It is forecast to weaken into a remnant low by Friday but may still slightly intensify into a tropical storm before doing so.
Residents in Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and Ilocos Norte are advised to stay alert for strong winds and rough seas. Mariners should refrain from sea travel and continue monitoring official PAGASA updates.
