Tropical Depression Huaning developed east northeast of Batanes early this morning, August 18, 2025, according to PAGASA.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the country’s official weather bureau, reported that the low-pressure area east northeast of Batanes developed into Tropical Depression Huaning at 2:00 AM today, August 18, 2025.
Huaning is forecast to move generally northward until tonight and then gradually turn north northeastward by early tomorrow toward the Ryukyu Islands, Japan. On this track, it may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between late tonight and tomorrow morning. It is expected to remain a tropical depression throughout the forecast period.
