Due to the continuous increase of coronavirus cases in the city, Mayor Benjamin Magalong has released an order on Thursday restricting social events and social gatherings in the City of Baguio for the rest of January.
The order explained that according to the recent statistics, rapid infection is seen among family members, work environments, and acquaintances because people are more likely to remove their masks due to familiarity.
As per Executive Order No. 11 series of 2022, the following guidelines will be implemented in the city from January 15, 31, 2022:
All non-work related social events or gatherings including the following but not limited to shall be PROHIBITED regardless of venue:
Offices, departments, and agencies, in the Public and Private sector may pursue urgent or indispensable work-related group activities only, however, the use of teleconference or videoconference is strongly recommended.
Physical attendance in gatherings for necrological services, wakes, inurnment, and funerals for those who died of causes other than COVID-19, and memorial services for cremains of COVID-19 deceased shall be limited to members of immediate family living within the same household only.
