As of 10:00 PM, October 23, 2024, Severe Tropical StormKristine is maintaining its strength as it approaches the coastal waters of Palanan, Isabela. The storm continues to pose a significant threat with maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h and gusts of up to 130 km/h.
A Gale Warning remains in effect over the seaboards of Luzon and Visayas, with waves reaching up to 8.0 meters in some areas. Sea travel is extremely dangerous, and mariners are urged to remain in port until conditions improve.
Kristine is expected to make landfall over Isabela tonight or early tomorrow morning. The storm will cross Northern Luzon before exiting into the West Philippine Sea tomorrow afternoon. Re-intensification is likely as the storm moves over open waters.
