A section of the Gov. Bado Dangwa National Road protected by rock nets has been completely closed after a rockslide or landslide occurred in Bangho, Daclan, Tublay, Benguet.
The incident happened at the road’s Rocknet Section, where protective netting had been installed along the slope to help contain falling rocks and landslide debris. Despite the protective measure, the reported slope movement forced authorities to close the road to all motorists.
The public has been advised not to attempt to pass through the affected section. No reopening schedule has been provided, and the road will remain closed until it is declared safe and passable.
The Tublay closure is among several road disruptions recorded across the Cordillera according to the DPWH Road Advisory.
The location-specific closure advisory identified Sayatan-Ba-ayan Road as an alternate route.
However, the August 13 regional advisory identified the Suyoc-Baayan-Posos Provincial Road as the alternate route for light vehicles. Neither advisory provided an alternate route specifically for heavy vehicles.
Three other roads in Benguet are listed as not passable.
The Baguio-Itogon Road is closed at Sitio Goldfield in Barangay Poblacion, Itogon. Motorists may use the Ucab-Midas Road as an alternate route.
The Tawang-Ambiong Road is also not passable. The listed alternate routes are the Shilan-Beckel Road and the Baguio-Bontoc Road.
A section of the Abatan-Mankayan-Cervantes Road in Tabio, Mankayan, is likewise closed. Light vehicles may use the Bayoyo-Tabio Road, while heavily loaded vehicles may take the Paco Colalo Bypass Road.
Other affected roads in Benguet remain open to one lane.
The Pico-Lamtang Road is limited to one-lane traffic at Pico Bridge No. 2 because of cracks on the girders.
One-lane traffic is also being implemented because of soil or rock collapse along the following roads:
Several roads and bridges in Apayao remain passable, but access is limited in affected sections.
Along the Apayao (Calanasan)-Ilocos Norte Road, only light vehicles may cross Bunot Bridge 2 in Barangay Tanglagan because of a damaged abutment slope. The same restriction applies at Ayayao Bridge in Barangay Eva because of a scoured bridge abutment footing.
Only one lane is passable at intermittent sections in Barangays Parina, Tanglagan, and Eva in Calanasan due to road slips.
The Claveria-Calanasan-Kabugao Road is limited to light vehicles at Sugoc Bridge in Barangay Ninoy because of a scoured approach slab. Intermittent sections in Barangays Sta. Elena, Eva, Naguilian, Eleazar, Ferdinand, Kabugawan, and Namaltugan are passable through one lane because of road slips.
One-lane traffic is also being implemented along sections of the Apayao-Ilocos Norte Road in Barangays Namaltugan, Tubungan, and Butao.
Along the Kabugao-Pudtol-Luna-Cagayan Boundary Road, Pudtol Bridge in Barangay Emilia is limited to light vehicles. Sections in Barangays Aurora and Lower Maton in Pudtol are open through one lane because of road slips.
Sections of the Ayaga-Sta. Marcela-Flora-Lasam Road in Barangays Bagutong and Malayugan in Flora are likewise limited to one lane because of road slips.
The Banaue-Hungduan-Benguet Boundary Road is passable through one lane at Hapao, Hungduan, following a soil collapse.
Motorists may use the Kiangan-Tinoc-Buguias Road as an alternate route.
The Tabuk-Banawe via Tanudan-Barlig Road is not passable at Dupligan, Tanudan, because of a sunken road section. The Cudal-Pangol-Gombuwoy Road has been identified as an alternate route.
Access at the Makilo Bailey Bridge in Bugnay, Tinglayan, along the Mountain Province Boundary-Calanan-Abbut Road, is limited to light vehicles. The bridge has a five-ton weight limit, and long-bodied vehicles are not allowed.
Aliog Bridge in Nambaran, Tabuk City, along the Manuel S. Agyao Boulevard, is also limited to vehicles weighing no more than five tons. The bridge has a vertical clearance of three meters.
Heavy vehicles may use the Bulo National Road through Callagdao, Bulo, and Agbannawag.
The Mountain Province-Ilocos Sur Road via Tue is not passable at Balaoa, Tadian. Motorists may use the Mountain Province-Ilocos Sur Road via Kayan as an alternate route.
The Mountain Province-Tabuk Enrile Road is limited to one lane at Sitio Agadchang in Betwagan, Sadanga, because of a slope collapse.
One lane is also passable along the Baguio-Bontoc Road at Sitio Tabbak in Sabangan due to a slope collapse.
An open-and-close traffic arrangement is being implemented along the Junction Talubin-Barlig-Calaccad Road at Sitio Pingew in Barangay Talubin, Bontoc. The restriction is due to an unstable slope and road cut.
Hazards may remain along the affected roads even where limited traffic is allowed. Motorists should slow down, obey road signs, and remain alert, particularly during periods of continuous rainfall.
