Earlier this afternoon, the official PLDT Customer Service Twitter account named as PLDT Cares has been hacked.
Its name had been briefly changed into PLDT Doesn’t Care, with the hackers also leaving a message to PLDT via a tweet they’ve made using the former’s Twitter account.
Later this afternoon, the account has already been recovered and restored.
Checking the @PLDT_Cares Twitter account, the name PLDT Doesn’t Care is already changed back to PLDT Cares.
As for the tweet left by the hackers, it’s no longer on their PLDT customer service Twitter account. However, here’s the hacker’s message as transcribed from the screenshots taken by those who have seen it the moment it has been tweeted:
“As the pandemic arises, Filipinos need fast internet to communicate with their loved ones. Do your job. The corrupt fear us, the honest support us, the heroic join us. We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us.”
Moreover, the hashtag which has been used by the hackers has also trended on the social media platform. At around 2:40 PM, the hashtag #PLDTHacked has claimed the number 2 spot in the “Philippines Trends” on Twitter.
Another hashtag related to the hacking done to the PLDT customer service Twitter account has also made it to the “Philippines Trends.” At around 3:30 PM today, #Anonymous has climbed up to number 5.
