The Philippines has received the first batch of COVID-19 vaccine from Sinovac on Sunday, February 28, 2021, and on Monday, March 1, 2021, the vaccination program in the country has officially begun. Philippine General Hospital (PGH) Dr. Gerardo “Gap” Legaspi then became the “first person in the country” and the “first Filipino doctor” to have officially received the vaccine.
Furthermore, today (Thursday), March 4, 2021, the Office of the Presidential Spokesperson, through a Facebook post, revealed that as of Wednesday, March 3, 2021, the total number of individuals vaccinated against COVID-19 was already over nine thousand (9,077) and based on the data provided these people are from the National Capital Region (NCR).
