#GardoPH maintains its strength as it moves northwestward extreme North Luzon

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported through their latest Tropical Cyclone Advisory issued at 11:00 AM today, that Tropical Depression “Gardo” maintains its strength as it moves northwestward east of Extreme Northern Luzon.

The center of TD Gardo is estimated to be located  1,065 km East of Extreme Northern Luzon (20.6°N, 132.2°E), packing maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h.

The Low-Pressure Area (LPA) turned Tropical Depression is forecast to move generally north-northwestward or northwestward throughout the forecast period as it interacts with Super Typhoon “Hinnamnor” outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. It is also forecast to degenerate into a post-tropical cyclone as early as this afternoon or tonight as Hinnamnor begins to absorb Gardo’s circulation.

According to the weather agency, Gardo is unlikely to directly affect the weather condition and sea conditions over the coastal waters in the country.

The next weather bulletin will be released by PAGASA at 5 PM today.
