Facebook has announced on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, that they are rolling out redesigned Facebook Pages.
Artists, public figures, businesses, brands, organizations and many others use Facebook Pages to connect with their fans or customers. Those who like or follow a Page on the platform can see posts or updates from the Page that he/she liked/followed.
According to Asad Awan, the head of Public Connections and Monetization of the social network, the redesigned Facebook Pages experience makes it simpler for creators to build community and achieve their objectives.
Among the most significant changes which have been newly introduced by Facebook is the platform’s do away from the “Like” button. That’s right, Facebook Page Likes are not going to be a thing anymore.
“We are removing Likes and focusing on Followers to simplify the way people connect with their favorite Pages,” stated Facebook’s head of Public Connections and Monetization in a blog post.
“Unlike Likes, Followers of a Page represent the people who can receive updates from Pages, which helps give public figures a stronger indication of their fan base,” further explained by Asad Awan.
Other than showing a focus on Page Followers, Facebook has also introduced other changes on Pages such as simpler and more intuitive design, dedicated news feed and new ways to engage, easy navigation between personal profile and Pages, new Q&A format, improved Page management tools and safety and integrity features, and more.
“This is just the beginning — we’ll continue to roll out the new Pages experience to all Pages in the upcoming months,” stated Facebook.
