Former Congressman Zaldy Co is no longer under the custody of the Czech government and is no longer within Czech territory, according to Justice Secretary Frederick Vida.
In a press briefing, Vida shared that Czech authorities did not provide any explanation regarding Co’s release. He added that when he requested additional information, officials responded that they could no longer disclose further details.
Authorities believe Co may now be traveling by land within the Schengen area, although his exact location remains unconfirmed.
The Department of Justice has yet to receive further updates as coordination with foreign counterparts continues.
